The Hilo Hep Cats' next big event will be a Blues Dance Workshop featuring Ted Maddry from Beyond Blues in San Francisco.
Blues dancing is great for beginners because there's no special footwork to learn; it's all about partner communication. It's great for experienced dancers because it opens up so many options for creativity and spontaneity. Blues dancing can be soulful, energetic, sassy, flirtatious, calm, and sensuous--just like blues music.
In addition to the workshop there will be a House Party on Saturday so you can try out some of your new Blues moves. Come to class for more info on time and location.

Memorial Day Weekend - The Hep Cats’ first all-Blues workshop will be taught by Chris & Campbell, a superb teaching team from Austin, TX . They will be in Hilo May 27-30. This is an excellent workshop for both beginners and experienced dancers. We'll also have some social dancing events in the evenings.
